Have you ever started something from the end, only to recognize that there were many steps that should have been taken BEFORE?
Well…this seems to be the way I learn. Over and over again. Staring from the end, only to go back to the beginning.
Why is this important to the context of Fine Line/Full Circle?
Fine Line/Full Circle is the end result of a whole new way of being and interacting in the world. It is an aspiration and NOT where things are currently at.
But where are things at? And what would be a tangible starting point?
Glad you asked.
This video should give you some food for thought. It’s short.
Go on, click on it, you can do it!
As you saw in the film, one of the ways we can easily respond to the maladies of our modern-day fast-paced society is to…
…learn to slow down.
No. Truly! This is not trivial. A lot can happen when we slow down.
The menstrual cycle holds the key to the wisdom of nature’s pace. The rhythm inbuilt in all that is living but that we, modern humans, have bypassed.
Look at the garden in spring, for example, and see how life starts, with new leaves and sprouts. The same garden changes entirely in the winter, summer, and autumn. Different flowers blossom at different times and, in the winter, life mostly happens inside the earth hidden from our human gaze.
A good gardener works WITH the constraints of the land and what is possible at that time of year and doesn’t expect flowers to blossom before they are ready. They don’t force the bees to come out in winter, and can’t keep the leaves on the branches in Autumn. They work in alignment with the Earth.
This very same pattern happens everywhere. All the time.
Birth, growth, Full-Bloom, Harvest, Decay, Death, Rebirth. Over, and over again. This pattern is the same pattern that happens in the cycle of an egg inside a woman’s body.
It is truly fascinating! Or…it could be.
The problem is…modernity is so fast-paced that, mmmm, hasn’t made space for the slower (and natural) phases of a woman’s monthly cycle and, as a result, most modern-day women have forgotten their cyclical nature in order to fit into modern-day-society. True chicken-and-egg scenario here.
Why does that matter?
Because we are at a time in our civilization when the wisdom contained inside the menstrual cycle is the very antidote that modernity requires. Modernity is rhythmless and holds an idea of progress that is linear and doesn’t fit with a woman’s psyche, which is cyclical.
Our Lab will be a place to reconnect with the wisdom of the cycles and co-create with this new shared understanding. Imagine what we could come up with, as humans, if women really embrace the gifts inherent in their cyclical psyches/bodies.
What kind of society would reflect that type of integration? Fine Line/Full Circle society, if you ask me, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. ;-)
C-Lab is our starting point and a space for us all, despite gender identification. It’s a place to develop a shared language and be creative in ways that are in sync with the cycles of life. The menstrual cycle is a psycho-technology that all of us can learn from and be inspired by.
We are all in this boat, called Earth, together. It’s time to learn how to dance better.
Are you in?
Now, some practicals:
The substack and YouTube channels will change names in the next few days.
The substack will become a Hub and a Lab where we will learn how to apply the wisdom of the cycles to our day-to-day lives and work through the teething problem together. Only then we can start fully playing.
What would education look like if it takes the cycles into account? Religion? Philosophy, psychology, the economy? Don’t get me started!
First steps:
Please spread the word, sign up, and be curious. There is a lot of work ahead but together we can do it.
It will also be fun!
Thank you, Adriana, for your sensibilities.
