Hello to New Subscribers and Checking in with old supporters.
Come closer! I'm writing a book and I'd love your input.
If you are new here, welcome!
Recently I’ve had a wave of new subscribers coming from varied places on the web. Don’t get me wrong, this is still pretty intimate and cozy but we are quickly becoming a microcosm of the world. We are not a “cohesive” bunch. I like that, as it keeps me and the space real.
As C-Lab grows, I am interested in ways of keeping it relevant to YOU!
C-Lab is a small node in this noisy world, full of information, that tries to make visible - in various ways (videos, articles, teachings and more to come) our disconnection from the cycles and the impact this has had on us all.
You see, we are contextual creatures that in-form one another constantly. Modernity has bent women into a shape far from their (our) nature. This impacts all of us, not just women.
I am writing a book on what I call Cycle Dysphoria which explores our collective disconnect from the pulse and rhythm of our life on Earth.
Cycle Dysphoria, as you can imagine, impacts how we do everything. If we believe in a linear world in which progress means “more” then we are subscribing to a culture that sees “more” as “better”. But the thing is, much of the time, more is not better.
Changing how we view reality, from a line to cycles, is easier said than done. Modernity has shaped us more than we give it credit for and even our most creative endeavours sit under the spell of capitalism, unlimited progress, which is veiled by “cycle dysphoria”.
Everything that is born has to die. If we don’t include harvest, decay, compost and death in our creative cycles we are not working with a creative cycle.
We are walking a line towards individual and systemic collapse.
The book will touch on many of the negative impacts cycle dysphoria has had on us as individuals and on our culture at large. Some of them are:
How we see time and how that shows up in our lives
How we quantify value
How we see “healing” (more is best)
How we see education (linear and preparing humans for more…what?)
How we work the land (sprays, pesticides,) to make the land produce more…
Since there are many newcomers, I’d love to invite you into the conversation. What would you feel is relevant to be brought into this discussion?
More to come later in the week…I’ve been quiet for a while.
Part of my quietness is trying to model what I speak about. Honouring my pulse, my rhythm…the rhythmic cycle of this body/mind as it goes through the massive transition called peri-menopause (I still hate this name!).
The pulse is here now…
Thank you for your trust and for motivating me to keep going…your presence and input mean a lot!
Thank you Adriana! have you heard this interview with Terence Howard on JRE?
I thought of C-Lab while listening. Here's a clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fS68pXbzy7U
