The journey of “undoing” is tough and we need all the help we can get! This is exactly why I created the resources page.
Here is where you will find links to articles, videos, posts, and interviews that can be supportive as we learn how to become more in tune with our bodies and with the rhythm of life.
People often ask me. How should I start?
If you are a parent or teacher of a girl, no matter her age, start by watching this video on the Fundamentals page. But truly, anyone would benefit from watching this video and seeing the cycle in a new way.
The video is short, about 15 min, and it will help you reframe the menstrual cycle in your mind. Once you start understanding the rhythm of the female body in a very different way than it is taught at schools, you will naturally include it in the way you teach, parent, and relate to people in your life.
Be curious and open!
If you have teen girls, you could show them the video and invite conversation. Let us know how that goes! (constructive criticism and challenges are welcome!)
Another option is to invite a group of mums to meet and share their experience of their first period. If your group of friends is anything like mine, unfortunately, the stories are not great but by sharing them women become aware of how their first period has had ripple effects throughout their lives. This tends to motivate them to get together and attempt to change the future of their girls by doing things differently.
If you do want to create a group (of mums, parents, or educators) and are unsure of how to go about it, reach out or post in the comments.
Below, are some videos that are popping out everywhere talking about the impact of the pill on women’s minds and bodies.
This is also very helpful information to parents as we move from unconsciously recommending the pill to our young women to becoming more discerning with the advice that well-meaning doctors might give. Check them out and send them to your friends.
If C-Lab has been helpful to you, please share it with your friends and community.
