Recording from "The Bleeding Edge of Culture"
A Conversation about the menstrual cycle for men (with women) for Limicon
Ok, so this was a gamble.
I wanted to offer Limicon an irreverent and thought-provoking session. I also think that men need to be part of conversations exploring the cyclical nature of female physiology so they can more fully understand modern culture's impact on women’s bodies and their creative potential.
With that in mind, I created “The Bleeding Edge of Culture” and had no idea who would show up.
When I opened my Zoom what I saw made me laugh out loud! You will see that in the video.
There it was… a small (and powerful!) group of…
WOMEN!
I’m sure it would still have been super interesting and fun if it stayed like that but, fortunately, in keeping with the intention behind the session, a couple of men joined.
The session was super rich as small sessions tend to be.
If you watch this session and feel excited about the potential of more conversations such as this, please comment below or reach out.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Would fathers of girls like to join me and other women at a special session for dads?
I like the reminder of what I had an inkling to.
I described the right of passage to my youngest, her 16th birthday was last week, so it was an apology of sorts.
This then also allowed the menopause topic to generate some questions of what we are subjected to as a family.
Awesome. I loved seeing, hearing, feeling the many layers of cycles mapped on top of each other and the idea of being able to become more exquisitely attuned at the body level. It makes a lot of intuitive sense that if this kind of listening was generalized in the culture, we would have a much better opportunity to feel our ways into more cooperative and creative society.
