C-lab, as the name gives away, is a lab where we can practice a new way of being and relating. It is a place to collect new insight and play with it in various ways before it is ready to go “out into the world”.
As you will see, if you hang around, some of the things we will be exploring here are still quite invisible in the so-called “real” world. They will be foregrounded in the attempt to create new hypothetical realities and play with our creativity in different ways.
Our starting point is to become aware of the values of modernity and to see where they are failing us and the planet. We especially focus on our individual and collective disconnection from the cycles because we see that as a major issue with many unconscious ripples.
The Path to Reconnection:
As I see it, our “disconnection” has unfolded over time, and the meaning we make of such disconnection is often over-simplified and carries the energy of blame. If we drop the blame, however, we are still left with a very clear job: the need to repair what’s been broken.
The wisdom contained in the cyclical nature of a woman’s fertility cycle is the same wisdom we can also observe in nature. So we have the opportunity to reconnect to this rhythm both objectively, by observing nature and its pulse, and also, if you are a woman in your fertile years, subjectively, through reconnecting with your pulses and rhythm.
If you are a living creature on this planet you will also have a rhythm and a pulse no matter your sex or gender but for women this is a big part of their “operating system” and helping them reconnect with that pulse is one of the major drivers of C-Lab.
Easier said than done, you might think. This is why we need community. This is why we need YOU.
Modernity has permeated our values system in such a way that what I am saying might sound quite abstract. (even though this is deeply embodied knowing!). The good news is that this reconnection is not that hard once we awaken to it and C-Lab is here to support you in this individual and collective unfolding.
Where to start? Firstly, be curious.
Some of our earlier posts and videos can be very helpful.
Notice what frames you, your family, and friends have for the menstrual cycle and the transition to menopause. Notice the words you use to describe some of these phases of your cycle and inquire into how these words might have helped shape your psyche.
Learn that you do have a rhythm and this rhythm is already validated by science.
If you have a menstrual cycle, begin to chart it.
Day one is the first day of flow. Do it for months, even years. You will see and experience the pattern. Over time, it will become clearer.
But you don’t need to wait, as you unfold in new ways, and insights start emerging, engage with your community and initiate conversations with your friends.
Share this with them as a conversation starter and share your insights with us!
This is a lab and we don’t have all the answers. Your findings will help shape our collective pool of resources and deepen our understanding.
Thank you for being a part of C-lab!
